�鶹��ý-backed projects to help students, children and pets have returned just in time for the holidays.

Stuff the Bus

Unitrans will park a vintage double-decker bus at the Davis Food Co-op from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Dec. 14 and ask the community to “Stuff the Bus” with food and other essential items for The Pantry, a campus space that helps students experiencing food insecurity.

“The Pantry is looking to sustain student and employee well-being, so they don’t have to worry about their next meal,” said Andie Tarabzooni, director of The Pantry.

HOLIDAY HELPING: 3 Ways to Support Food Drive

The Mail Services Holiday Food Drive is back for a 19th year, and there are numerous ways to contribute before the Nov. 22 deadline.

The first is the simplest: Leave nonperishable food items with your outgoing campus mail and Mail Services will take care of the rest, ensuring the gift gets to the ASUCD Pantry. �鶹��ý Health employees can also take part, with donations going to the Pantry at �鶹��ý Health.

How to Help Others This Holiday Season

Update Dec. 5: Between the football game and two basketball games, cross-Causeway rivalry contests between �鶹��ý and Sacramento State drew 750 pounds of food donations this year.

Separately, the women’s basketball game on Sunday (Dec. 10) will feature a toy drive organized by the Coalition for African Diaspora Student-Athletes.

Updated 1 p.m. Nov. 29: The campus community is invited to sponsor gifts for the children of �鶹��ý students through a holiday drive being conducted by the Women’s Resources and Research Center. Interested participants are asked to sign up by 11:59 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 30), by selecting the number of children and age ranges they’d like to sponsor.

A vintage London double-decker bus will be parked in the Davis Food Co-op parking lot this Saturday (Dec. 11), waiting to be stuffed — stuffed with your donations of food and a few other of life’s necessities. All donations will be turned over to the ASUCD Pantry, which aims to ensure students in need don’t miss a meal or go without other basic necessities while trying to stay in school.
